Our Mission
RunAdic is more than just a platform — it's a community of runners united by passion, dedication, and mutual support. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment where runners of all levels can connect, grow, and achieve their goals together.
These guidelines apply to all interactions on RunAdic, including events, clubs, direct messages, comments, and any content you share. By being part of this community, you agree to uphold these values and help us maintain a positive space for everyone.
1. Be Respectful & Kind
Treat others with the same respect and kindness you expect for yourself. Every runner has their own journey, pace, and goals. Celebrate differences rather than judging them.
- No harassment or bullying: Do not engage in any form of harassment, intimidation, or targeted negativity.
- No hate speech: Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.
- Encourage, don't discourage: Offer constructive feedback and positive encouragement. Negative comments about someone's pace, appearance, or abilities are not welcome.
- Respect personal boundaries: Do not pressure others to share personal information, meet up if they're uncomfortable, or engage in activities they don't want to.
2. Keep the Platform Safe
Your safety is our priority. Help us maintain a secure environment by following these guidelines:
- No sharing personal contact information publicly: Protect your privacy and others' by not posting phone numbers, addresses, or other sensitive details in public spaces.
- Report concerns immediately: If you witness harassment, suspicious behavior, or anything that makes you uncomfortable, report it using our reporting tools or contact support.
- Be cautious at real-world meetups: When attending events or group runs, meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts.
- No dangerous challenges or encouragement of unsafe behavior: Do not promote extreme training methods, encourage ignoring injuries, or suggest unsafe practices.
3. Be Authentic & Honest
Trust is the foundation of our community. Be truthful about who you are and what you represent:
- No fake accounts or impersonation: Use your real identity. Impersonating others or creating deceptive accounts is not allowed.
- Don't manipulate stats or achievements: Be honest about your running data. Cheating on leaderboards or faking achievements undermines the community's spirit.
- No spam or misleading content: Do not post repetitive content, promotional spam, or misleading information.
- Properly attribute content: If you share content that isn't yours, give proper credit to the original creator.
4. Event & Club Participation
Events and clubs are where our community comes to life. Follow these guidelines to ensure everyone has a positive experience:
- Show up when you RSVP: If you commit to an event, make every effort to attend. If plans change, update your RSVP status.
- Be on time: Respect organizers and other participants by arriving on time for scheduled events.
- Follow event-specific rules: Each event organizer may have additional guidelines — please follow them.
- Club leaders set the tone: As a club leader, you're responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive environment and addressing issues within your club.
- No soliciting or selling: Events and clubs are not spaces for unsolicited sales pitches or recruiting for outside organizations.
5. Content & Communication Guidelines
What you share matters. Keep these rules in mind when posting content or communicating with others:
- No explicit or offensive content: Do not share sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or other offensive content.
- No promotion of illegal activities: Do not use RunAdic to plan, promote, or celebrate illegal acts.
- Keep it relevant: Posts and comments should relate to running, fitness, or community building. Off-topic or disruptive content may be removed.
- No weapon or violence references: Do not threaten or reference violence toward individuals or groups.
- No misinformation: Do not share false or misleading information about running, health, or safety.
6. Club & Event Organizer Responsibilities
If you choose to lead a club or organize events, you take on additional responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming environment: Ensure all members feel included and respected regardless of pace or experience level.
- Moderate actively: Address inappropriate behavior within your club promptly. Use RunAdic's moderation tools or contact support for help.
- Communicate clearly: Share important information about events (time, location, requirements, risks) in advance.
- Be accountable: You are responsible for the safety and experience of participants in your events. Consider obtaining appropriate insurance for organized runs.
- Don't abuse your position: Do not use your role as organizer to harass, pressure, or exploit members.
7. Reporting & Enforcement
We rely on the community to help us identify violations of these guidelines. Here's how reporting works:
- How to report: Use the "Report" button on any post, comment, or profile. For urgent concerns, email safety@runadic.com.
- What happens after a report: Our moderation team reviews each report. Actions may include warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent banning.
- Appeals: If you believe a decision was made in error, you can appeal by contacting appeals@runadic.com.
- No retaliation: Retaliating against someone who reported a violation is itself a violation of these guidelines.
8. Consequences of Violations
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:
- First violation (minor): Warning and content removal
- Second violation: Temporary suspension (7-30 days)
- Serious violations (harassment, hate speech, threats): Immediate permanent ban
- Repeated minor violations: Permanent ban
- Illegal activity: Ban and referral to law enforcement
We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate to protect our community.
9. Inclusivity & Accessibility
RunAdic is for everyone who loves to run. We're committed to making our platform accessible and inclusive:
- All paces welcome: Whether you run a 5-minute mile or a 15-minute mile, you belong here.
- No elitism: Looking down on runners with different abilities, gear, or experience levels violates our community spirit.
- Accessibility matters: When organizing events, consider accessibility for runners with disabilities. Indicate if routes are wheelchair-friendly or have other accessibility features.
- Language matters: Be mindful of using inclusive language that doesn't exclude or marginalize others.
10. Be a Positive Force
Beyond following rules, we encourage you to actively contribute to making RunAdic an amazing place:
- Celebrate others' achievements: Congratulate fellow runners on PRs, milestones, and goals.
- Share knowledge: Help newer runners with tips, encouragement, and advice.
- Lead by example: Demonstrate the values you want to see in the community.
- Welcome newcomers: Make new members feel welcomed and included.
- Give constructive feedback: If you see room for improvement in events or clubs, share your thoughts respectfully.
